Famed singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Prince has returned to the pop charts with a new track and it rocks!. Those who grew up in the 80′s will understand how Prince’s music defined an era, something about his music made you dump your ‘Pop Princess’ ears, cross over to the other side and rock out.
A naturally gifted and self-taught artist, Prince started playing piano at 7, guitar at 13, and drums at 14 and in April 1978, he released his first album with minimal fuss from DJ’s or fans. It was in 1984 that Prince hit new superstar status with the release of Purple Rain, an autobiographical movie which was a roaring success along with its soundtrack of the same name. The album spent 24 weeks at the top of the charts and gave us tracks such as ”When Doves Cry“, “Let’s Go Crazy“, “Purple Rain”, “I Would Die 4 U” and “Take Me With U”.
Rock & Roll Love Affair” has only been out for a few weeks in some countries but people are already crowning it one of the best Prince singles yet, after his performance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
So what do you think to the new track?
Rock And Roll Love Affair
Purple Rain
For me, the new single lacks the soulfulness of “Purple Rain” – no comparison!
I agree Kim, Purple Rain was superb, but it is so good to have him back making music
